Course content
Lectures (topics): 1. Principles of corporate management of manufacturing enterprises. 2. Business Process Management. Characteristics of basic processes in the enterprise. 3. Managing change and continually improving business processes. 4. Introduction to production control. Production and production process. Process management of the company. Technical preparation of production and control of auxiliary and service processes. 5. Specifics of production management at individual levels of management, operational control of production. 6. Standardization of the management process and activities. 7. Basic starting points for the sustainable development of the manufacturing enterprise. 8. Integrated Management System Concept I - Quality Management System, Environmental Management Systems, OSH System. 9. Information systems in an integrated management system. 10. Supply Chain. Supplier-consumer relations. Value for the customer. 13. Analysis of a case study focused on the management system of a selected production enterprise. 14. Excursion to the selected business. The lectures will include experts from corporate practice. Exercises: Solution of practical tasks corresponding to the individual blocks of the lectured material, interactive games with the use of industrial methods training, presentation of semestral work

Learning outcomes
Students completing the course will be able to explain the principles of the process control in the enterprise, gain awareness of process control and understand the importance of the effective control of the business processes to ensure the company's competitiveness. Students will acquire basic knowledge necessary for further study of specialized subjects (e.g. Business Logistics, Internship).
Students will acquire basic knowledge necessary for further study of subject areas (such as logistics, introduction to management, internship). Students will be able to: - characterize manufacturing enterprises, - explain the specifics of industrial enterprises, - describe the production system of the enterprise and list the types of production, - define the production process, - to explain the principles and tools of lean manufacturing, - explain the relationship of the production enterprise to the environment and its relevance to the concept of sustainability.

Active knowledge from the course - Business Economics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Presentation of group work, Oral presentation of self-study

Excursions and lectures by practitioners are part of the course (participation is compulsory, unless otherwise stated). The course will include a continuous evaluation of knowledge. Examination as a written exam (min. 60%).
