Course content
|
The course introduces students to the principles of inclusive education. Based on examples of good practice, it shows possibilities for working with students in an inclusive school and offers suggestions for overcoming difficult situations in the school environment. The course applies basic questions of social pedagogy concerning the influence of the social environment, family, school, and peers on children and young people. Subtopics: 1. Characteristics of inclusive schools and inclusive education. (2 hours) 2. Issues of gender and social diversity in schools. (2 hours) 3. Students with special educational needs, activities of the school counseling center. (2 hours) 4. Difficult and risky situations at school and how to deal with them. Preventive programs and their implementation in the school curriculum. (2 hours)

Learning outcomes
|
Objectives: - I promote a culture of inclusive education at school; - I am familiar with the specific needs of students with special educational needs; - I help students manage their emotions and guide them toward understanding the needs of others; - I notice risky behavior in students and actively address it in order to prevent socially pathological phenomena; - When solving problems, I am familiar with the principles of cooperation with the school counseling facility and act in accordance with the professional ethics of the teaching profession - I assess the possibilities of implementing preventive programs into the school curriculum; - I create a gender-equal environment in education.
