Course content
|
The course aims to familiarize students with the latest findings in the field of working with teacher portfolios as a specific type of portfolio in the context of using portfolios in a learning society. The inclusion of the course at the beginning of the first reflective teaching practice and subject didactics allows students to connect the knowledge and experience from these courses and to view work on the teacher portfolio as a long-term process, while also distinguishing between other types of portfolios, such as subject didactics portfolios. Subtopics: 1. The significance and purpose of the teacher portfolio in the context of lifelong learning. Identification of the teacher, working with the mission and vision of the teaching profession and strategies that lead to their fulfillment. (teaching philosophy, opinions on the professional activities of teachers, etc.) 2. Structure of the portfolio and its sub-sections. Attitude section, examples (work on sample lesson plans, teaching plans, and own activities) (2 hours) 3. Descriptors mapping the development of competencies. Teacher assessment and self-assessment tool at the Technical University of Liberec. 4. Developmental part of the portfolio (key literature and resources, personal development plan) (2 hours)
