Course content
The course develops pedagogical competencies for reflecting on changes in educational content and strategies for reducing social inequalities in education, based on knowledge of pedagogical terminology and the principles of the education system. Subtopics: 1. School as an educational institution for student development. The concept of education and its current problems. Formal and informal education. (4 hours) 2. Education and training as a system. Curriculum reform and education policy in the Czech Republic and the EU. (4 hours) 3. The curriculum and its psychodidactic context. Curriculum planning and implementation. The student in the education and training system. Differentiation in education. Working with a heterogeneous class. (4 hours)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
Learning outcomes
- Based on my knowledge of the principles and laws of the educational process, I set educational goals. - When formulating teaching goals, I reflect on the content of curricular documents. - When planning the educational process, I reflect on interdisciplinary relationships and cross-curricular themes. - I am aware of the demands placed on teachers and therefore actively work on my professional development; - I formulate my teaching vision and look for ways to fulfill it in my profession; - I am familiar with the ethical principles associated with the teaching profession and act in accordance with them - When setting teaching goals, I take into account the developmental specifics of the given developmental period; Competencies developed: 2.1, 5.1, 6.1, 6.2 see Competency Framework for Teaching Graduates
