Course content
As part of Reflective Teaching Practice I, students learn about the specifics of working with school-age children in the context of the curriculum for educational purposes, thereby gaining their first practical experience. The focus of the practice allows students to connect the knowledge and skills they have previously acquired in the subjects of pedagogy, general and subject didactics, and the subject didactics seminar-portfolio. As part of their pedagogical practice, students observe lessons and then participate in teaching in the form of assistant practice and, in the final phase, also in the form of their own or paired teaching. Form of practice: - Introductory meeting: During the introductory meeting, students will learn about the basic principles of teaching practice, keeping a teaching journal (records of observations, assistant practice, and their own teaching activities), and reflecting on the course of the practice. Emphasis is also placed on evaluating the students' existing professional competencies so that their progress can be assessed during the final meeting. - Teaching assistance or observation: students become familiar with the educational process. They observe, evaluate, and analyze what is happening in the classroom in terms of the interaction between the teacher and the students and between the students themselves. They also gradually become involved in teaching in the form of assistance, which gives them the opportunity to participate directly in teaching. - Independent or paired teaching: students independently teach a subject according to their professional focus. They teach under the supervision of an accompanying teacher, who provides them with feedback after the lesson. - Reflection and joint lesson planning with the accompanying teacher: students plan and reflect on their teaching activities together with the accompanying teacher. As part of the reflection, students receive feedback from the practicing teacher. The supervising teacher focuses on the extent to which the student fulfills professional competencies. They also guide the student towards self-reflection so that they are able to evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses and work on them systematically. - Final meeting: During the final meeting, the initial teaching practice will be evaluated, and students will have the opportunity to share their experiences and reflect on the course of the practice. The final meeting also includes an evaluation of the student's professional competencies, including an assessment of their progress in individual areas. Among other things, students will have the opportunity to assess for themselves how far they have progressed in this
