Course content
1. Basis of educational theories and didactic concepts. 2. Didactics as a theory of learning and education, concept and object, basic issues, methods of examination, relationship to other sciences, focus of didactics. 3. Determinants of educational, cultural, political and social context. 4. Process of education, historical context, theory of education, systematization, streams. 5. Didactic concept, philosophical and psychological bases. 6. Didactic concept, present concept and post-modern world. 7. Didactic concept, curricular context.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 14 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students with diverse concepts of educational theories and didactic concepts in application to the educational essence of the topic.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Didactic concepts 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral paper 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational practice
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written assignment, Test

Active participation in lectures, performance of seminar tasks, written test.
