Course content
|
1. Basic concepts and objectives of traffic education for children and youth. Knowledge of traffic rules, safe behavior in vehicles (car seats, safety belts). 2. Traffic psychology - human system - means of transport - transport environment. Traffic accidents - the causes of traffic accidents, the development of accidents. Children as participants and victims of traffic accidents. Organization of BESIP, education and schools in traffic education and prevention of traffic accidents. 3. Traffic education of pre-school children, habits, relationship to the environment and people, caution, discipline. Features that influence the response of children in selected traffic situations, training for their safe stay outdoors in traffic. 4. Traffic education for primary school pupils - a safe way to school, a pupil as a pedestrian and a road user, a rule to see and be seen, safe spots for games, sledding, skiing, etc. 5. Traffic education of secondary school pupils - principles of correct behavior of pedestrians and cyclists, use of cycling helmets. Rules for safe driving on in-line, skateboard and scooter. Risk of underestimation in older children. Children's playground - meaning, use. 6. Training of road traffic rules for pupils-cyclists. Mandatory bicycle equipment. How to call first aid in a car accident, treatment of minor injuries. 7. Excursion - children's playground, practical demonstrations of traffic education on the playground, use of reflective materials. Traffic instruction as a game, an overview of publications for children, parents, teachers.

Learning outcomes
|
Traffic education, situation in traffic education in the Czech Republic, current trends in EU countries, position of traffic education in elementary school, relation to psychological disciplines, traffic psychology.
Students will receive pedagogical and psychological key competences in the field of traffic education.

Student has basic knowledge of psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment
Active participation of students in the seminars, elaboration and presentation of given practical task. Group feedback.
