Course content
|
1. Evaluation - changes in the role of the school and the school evaluation in the development of the society; categorization of terms; participants and levels of evaluation processes at school; assumptions about the quality of evaluation processes at school. 2. Evaluation of pupils 'performance - collecting information and diagnosing pupils' performance; evaluation criteria and indicators; formative and summative assessment of the pupil. 3. The function of the school evaluation - informative, motivational, regulatory (formative) and educational, diagnostic and prognostic functions. 4. Methods and forms of school evaluation - classification and other quantitative forms of assessment, verbal evaluation. 5. School evaluation and pupils personality. 6. The personality of the pupil, the influence of the school evaluation on his self-concept; external evaluation as a path to self-assessment. 7. The role of the teacher in the school evaluation process - evaluation activities and evaluation competencies; evaluating communication and assessment language. 8. Teacher's mistakes in pupil performance evaluation process; self-evaluation of the teacher's work. 9. The concept of evaluation in selected alternative educational concepts - Waldorf schools, Montessori schools, Dalton school plans. 10. Evaluation and self-evaluation of the work of the school, teacher, pupil and other participants in education in school. 11. National and international comparison of educational outcomes - comparative tests, their importance, risks. 12. Perspectives of evaluation in the current school.

Learning outcomes
|
The course deals with issues of evaluation of performance and behavior of pupils.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Evaluation in current school 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral paper 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process

Prerequisites
|
Student has basic knowledge of primary education and psychodidactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral presentation of self-study, Written assignment
Active participation in seminars. Study of scholar literature. Implementation of own survey of the evaluation practice of the selected teacher. Preparation for teaching with a focus on selected forms of evaluation.
