Course content
School as an educational and training institution for the development of pupils. Education, socialization. Scholarization. Pedagogical-psychological characteristics of the school class. Childhood in the 21st century. The concept of education and its contemporary problems. 2. Education and education as a system. Objectives - contents - conditions - methods - means - evaluation /evaluation/reflection of education and training. Curriculum reform and educational policy in the Czech Republic/EU. The path to curriculum reform. Curriculum documents, educational policy documents. 3. Curriculum - psychodidactic context. Curriculum planning, curriculum implementation. The hidden curriculum. Philosophy of curriculum. Implementation of RVP in educational reality. Transversal curriculum. The pupil in the system of education and upbringing. Differentiation in education with regard to individual gifts and specific educational needs of the pupil. Inclusive education. 4. Methods of education. Activation methods in teaching. Foreign educational inspiration. Evaluation - formative assessment. 5. Teacher as an agent of teaching. Teacher in relations with actors - school management, pupils, parents and other school partners. Teacher characteristics, professional competences and activities. Teacher's educational styles in relation to creating a safe environment for pupils. 6. School climate, classroom climate, staff climate in the context of school culture. Wellbeing. Mental well-being in school. Creating a safe and stimulating environment for learning. 7. Technology and education. Media and education, Media and child education in the digital age. AI and education.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the study of pedagogical reflection of theory in terms of preparation for the teacher's profession. Emphasis is placed on the construction of basic concepts and the analysis of problems of general pedagogy in the context of sociological and socio-psychological relations, but also on their reflection from the perspective of pedagogical experience - direct or mediated within the seminar. Students are led to search for relationships in the established phenomena and problems, so that the construction of their pedagogical knowledge becomes part of their reflection of pedagogical experience and pedagogical behavior.
After completion of the subject student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of General pedagogy 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process
Prerequisites
The student is able to read sources criticaly, present his ideas and opinions and work with others in finding solutions to problems.
