Course content
Topics: 1. Introduction to psychology and overview of basic psychological approaches. 2. The influence of biological factors and heredity on the psyche and their consideration in planning a high-quality educational process. 3. The importance of group interactions for the stimulation and development of neural networks associated with the development of social skills, with an emphasis on cooperation and violence prevention. 4. The influence of socio-cultural factors on personality development, mentalization theory. 5. Analysis of the influence of social and cultural factors on students in the school environment. 6. Cognition and cognitive development. 7. Language and communication and their developmental-psychological context. 8. Motivation and emotions. 9. Emotion regulation techniques. 10. Character and morality. 11. Prosocial behavior, altruism. 12. Intelligence, original and current theories of intelligence. 13. Periodization of development I. 14. Periodization of development II.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)
  • Home preparation for classes - 35 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 40 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 35 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course provides students with an overview of the basic psychological disciplines necessary for the development of pedagogical and psychological competencies. Outcomes - insight into the basic structure and dynamics of personality for pedagogical work with children and young people.

Assessment methods and criteria
Test

75% attendance. Completion of a seminar paper and two essays - self-reflection on a selected topic (motivation, ego defense mechanisms). Written test.
