Course content
Definition of mental health and mental illness, the concept of norm and normality, mental functions, the development of the psyche during life, personality and character traits, methods of maintaining mental health and prevention of mental disorders, self-image, seeking help and treatment, myths about the psyche, mental hygiene for every day

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the issues of prevention, care and maintenance of mental health both in personal life and in relation to the future profession of educator.
The student will be able to complete the course (1) understand the subject of mental health and mental disorders, (2) critically evaluate and analyze situations that require early intervention to prevent and maintain mental health, (3) to practically apply the acquired knowledge to their lives and future professions, (4) use the acquired knowledge and skills in the educational process, (5) will be motivated for further education in this field.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentation of self-study

The condition for completing the colloquium is at least 75% participation in contact teaching, study of e-learning materials, study of recommended literature and one's own reflection on the topics discussed in practice. Credit will take place in the form of a discussion of written work, which will reflect the reflection and summary of newly acquired knowledge in this course.
