Course content
Subject matter of the investigation and the status of social psychology in the system of the sciences of man. Interdisciplinary relations between psychology, sociology, ethology, anthropology, general linguistics, etc. Personality and socialization. The concept of primary and secondary socialization. Social cognition, perception and communication. Social attribution theory. Attitudes and stereotypes. Prejudices (their emergence, meaning). Social roles, status, social position. Standard and normality - different views. The concept of healthy personality. The identity of the individual from the standpoint of social psychology. The process of socialization and individuation; personal and social relations; sociability, affiliation, friendship, sexual attractiveness, love. Aggression, aggressiveness, hostility. Cooperation, conformity, competition, learned helplessness, individualism, antisocial targeting individuals. The family, its definition and functionality. Early psychosocial development of the child and the effects of early experience on the development of personality and socialization. The influence of the school on the socialization of the child and the adolescent's personal maturation. Formal and informal peer group. The influence of the media on the social development of children and youth. Pro-social and antisocial behavior. Socio-productive negotiations, altruism. Small social groups; structure, development, the importance of belonging to a group, the relations inside. Relations between the groups. Conflicts and their resolution. The management of the group. Authority and its types. Application of knowledge of social psychology in the educational and training activities, in the educational advisory services and in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Learning outcomes
Course deals with basic elements of social and pedagogical psychology.
After completion of the subject student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Social and educational psychology 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral theses 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of general and developmental psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination

Obtain compensation is subject to at least 75% of the participation in the seminar and the processing of critical analysis at least 2 publications from recommended literature, taking at least 1 publication from the basic literature. The student has to prove that he is able to work with the classroom text as with the complex thought, therefore, for the purposes of granting the credit mechanism cannot be processed only some of the selected chapter. Thesis about each read work is to be in the range of at least 3 pages. The selection of books is not executed from the extending literature, which is recommended only for possible ambiguity in the course of self-learning. Requirement for the exam is to obtain compensation and orientation in the studied issue of the extent of syllabus. The exam is carried out in the form of debate over the specific subjects of the syllabus and potential application in the context of direct educational activities; the input part of the test involves a debate on a structured critical analysis of studied literature.
