Course content
1. Basis of didactic concepts 2. Didactics as a theory of learning and education, concept and object, basic issues, methods of examination, relationship to other sciences, focus of didactics 3. Determinants of educational, cultural, political and social context 4. Process of education, historical context, theory of education, systematization, streams 5. Didactic concept, philosophical and psychological bases 6. Didactic concept, present concept and post-modern world 7. Didactic concept, curricular context

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)

Learning outcomes
The course leads student from discussion over educational paradigms to create a more pragmatic and formulated concept of theory of education. The aim is to guide student in the basic didactic categories, in the principles and system of didactics, provide an overview of the educational concepts and initiate a discussion of alternative approaches in theory of education.
After completion of the course student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Didactic concepts 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral thesis 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational practice 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy.

Student's performance analysis, Written assignment

Study objectives: 1. active participation on the lecture 2. participants will perform all given tasks 3. reading of relevant academic texts 4. writing a semestral academic paper 5. successful accomplishment of institutional objectives of the course - attainment above the minimum requirements for the award of credits
