Course content
1. System of support for individuals with specific needs in the Czech Republic. Organizations and institutions in support of integration and inclusion in the Czech Republic. 2. Support for individuals with specific needs in a family environment. 3. Support for individuals with specific needs in an environment of surrogate family care. 4. Support for individuals with specific needs in context of their upbringing and education in schools and educational institutions. 5. Support for individuals with specific needs in their leisure time.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming)
  • Class attendance - 14 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 32 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 14 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the possibilities of support for individuals with specific needs in their integration into the majority population. Students will learn the basic stones of social integration of individuals with various forms of handicaps, starting with the organizations and institutions providing appropriate support in integration and inclusion, through professional and personal skills and qualification of the staff of these organizations and institutions, to activities that are an integral part of integrative and inclusive processes in our society.
After completion of the course student will be able 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Integration and inclusion in education 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral thesis 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational practice 5. to be motivated for continuous learning in the field
Prerequisites
Student has knowledge of pedagogical psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written assignment

Study objectives: 1. active participation on the lecture 2. participants will perform all given tasks 3. reading of relevant academic texts 4. writing a semestral academic paper 5. successful accomplishment of institutional objectives of the course - attainment above the minimum requirements for the award of credits
