Course content
1. Explanation of basic concepts - discussion, shared interviews, thought maps. 2. Determinants of health - physical activity, nutrition, the environment, psychosocial environment, family lifestyle, mental hygiene, danger of addiction. 3. Prevention - program creation, group work. 4. Health promotion program at school - analysis of video samples. 5. The personality of the teacher in the realization of health education.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments)

Learning outcomes
The course leads students to understand the interconnectedness of health with the overall lifestyle, with family life, with the school environment, with the living and working environment. The aim is to show the connections between physical, mental and spiritual health and to apply these ideas to the work of the school.
After completion of the course student will be able: 1. to understand the content of prescribed curriculum of Health education 2. to reflect the topic critically 3. to demonstrate specific intellectual skills gained in a course in writing of a semestral paper 4. to apply gained knowledge in educational process
Prerequisites
Student has basic knowledge of pedagogy and psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Presentation of group work, Written assignment

Active participation in seminars, presentation of a project proposal for health promotion at elementary school.
