Learning outcomes
Considering the current climate situation, the state of energy reserves and especially our ever-increasing dependence on energy systems, it is necessary to start looking for others, sustainable ways of reaching our needs. The current method of construction doesn't solve impact on the environment too much. The carbon footprint of buildings is growing, as so as the dependence on different forms of energy. So to be able to meet the goals of the Green Deal, we need to start working and incorporating sustainable principles into design and then into construction. The course is primarily intended for students of FUA TUL. Its purpose is to introduce students with the sustainable construction, i.e. to work with the principles of climate design,to use natural, recycled and recyclable building materials. Within the framework of energy building systems to incorporate renewable energy sources with a positive impact on the environment, effectively manage water not only in the building, but also in the urbanised areaand landscape - green and blue infrastructure and purposefully and efficiently to manage with different types of waste. The aim of the course is to show the student other practices and possibilities in designng buildings and areas, which are closely linked to a completely different approach and a change of mindset. The primary challenge is to consider the environmental impact of construction. Lecture topics: 1. Legal environment - legislation of the Czech Republic and EU, SDGs 2. Territory and locality - accessibility, land use planning 3. Landscape - biodiversity, water management 4. Climate design principles 5. Sustainable building materials 6. Structures 7. Thermal-technical requirements for buildings 8. Accessibility and barrier-free use of buildings 9. Sustainable technical systems - energy sources, interconnection of technical systems, intelligent buildings 10. Water management - management of potable, non-potable, waste and rainwater 11. Intelligent light and lighting, efficient use of light 12. Off Grid Housing 13. Sustainable buildings in practice 14. Excursions
