Course content

Elements of chord arrangement and chord linking in musical sentence. Close, open and mixed harmony. Sorts of common chords, seventh chords. Aural harmonic analysis of musical pieces' structure. Melody harmonisation. Elements of musical forms, themes, work with themes. Elementary kinds of musical forms. Song forms, sonata form, rondo, variation. Elements of counterpoint and his important form, fugue and its structure. Typical forms for various musical periods. Composers of 20th century techniques and contemporary composers.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam
Activity (80%), writting test, oral exam. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
