Course content
The aim of the courses is to provide students with the knowledge and practical basis for planning, implementing, and reflecting on integrated teaching of Man and His World at the primary school level. The course concept uses the principles of locally anchored learning with an emphasis on fieldwork and research-oriented teaching. Attention will be paid to activity strategies, digital tools, the development of critical thinking, and the concept of sustainability. Students will plan integrated activities for the first and second periods (grades 1-5) with regard to the age specifics of the pupils. Students will become familiar with regional institutions offering programs related to Man and His World. Thematic areas: 1) Introduction; orientation in the RVP ČaJS: structure, expected results, cross-cutting themes; principles of integrated learning 2) Methods of student assessment and self-reflection 3) The place where we live - principles of place-based learning 4) The place where we live - developing map skills and using stories in teaching 5) People and time - digital presentations (StoryMaps) 6) The place where we live - field teaching 7) People and time - working with local history: collecting stories and primary sources 8) People and time - ethics of teaching history; sensitivity to topics; respect for different points of view 9) Diversity of nature and sustainability 10) Diversity of nature and sustainability 11) Regional institutions offering ČaJS programs 12) Regional institutions offering ČaJS programs 13) ČaJS textbook exchange 14) Implementation of field teaching with students
