Course content
|
Topics: 1. Concept and vision of the subject. Student portfolio and planning of a student conference. 2. Educational inspiration for the first grade of elementary school in the Czech Republic and in selected European countries: concept of primary education / cooperation teacher / pupil / family / community. Online discussion with a foreign expert from practice and academia on selected issues of primary education. 3. Educational program "Starting Together" - concept, activity centers, cooperative learning, pupil as an active actor of education. Analysis of the educational program of a selected school, discussion with a teacher from practice, reflection. 4. Inclusive school and pupils from socio-culturally different environments. Examples of good practice. 5. School from the perspective of parents - choice of elementary school, postponement of school attendance, forms of cooperation between family and school, home preparation for teaching). 6. Child and online. Workshop / discussion with an expert (children and social networks, (in)security in the online environment, use of AI in teaching). 7. Realization of a student conference. Final reflection.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issue of primary education in a more comprehensive perspective. On selected topics, students will learn about current trends in primary education, the actors (teacher, pupil, parents), examples of good practice in first cycle schools, and the role of primary education. They will learn about the best practices in primary school education and inspiration from abroad. The course includes examples of good practice of innovative schools in the first cycle of primary education. Primary schools, round tables with practitioners, discussions with primary education actors and the organisation of a student conference.
