Course content
|
The theoretical basis focuses on two-dimensional artistic expression with an emphasis on drawing and its overlap with graphic design. Exercises develop drawing skills. Students learn to work with artistic means of expression in drawing and composition, and become familiar with basic drawing techniques and materials. They practice modeling with light and shadow, the basics of perspective drawing, study drawing and sketching, stylization of motifs, and abstract concepts of line and plane. There is also room for playing with lines using unconventional tools. Thematic areas - lectures: General introduction to art education, terminology. Drawing techniques and materials. Means of expression. Composition, perspective. Graphic techniques and materials (relief printing). Graphic techniques and materials (intaglio, screen printing, pre-graphic techniques). Means of expression. Thematic areas - exercises: Terminology of the field and means of expression in drawing in practice. Forms of solving space in a surface. Drawing cubic bodies, construction. Perspective rendering. Drawing rotational bodies, modeling with light and shadow. Study drawing, natural elements. Sketching, stylization of form. Pen and ink drawing and wash. Drawing from a model. Still life. Drapery. Portrait, figure. Unconventional drawing tools. Negative drawing. Presentation of seminar work dedicated to draftsmen and illustrators.

Participation in the classes, presentation of portfolio, semestral work. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
