Course content
Thematic circuits - lectures: 1. Basic characteristics of pre-school age children. 2. Development of cognitive abilities and numerical ideas in pre-school children. 3. Pre-mathematical concepts in educational areas of RVP PV. 4. Show space by drawing and modeling. 5. Transformation in pre-mathematical literacy. 6. Mathematics with all senses or the Hejný method in kindergarten. 7. Creating pre-emptive ideas with possible prevention of special disorders. Thematic Circuits - Seminars: 1. Sensual perception, gradual development of children 5-7 years old. 2. Combining the development of pre-mathematical ideas with the development of the whole personality. 3. Basic concepts in mathematics - numerology, mathematical theorems, relations and work with them. 4. Pre-mathematical concepts in educational areas of the RVP PV. 5. Development of cognitive abilities and numerical ideas in children. 6. Evolution of mathematical thinking - words on the principle of comparison, location associated with time data. 7. Orientation in the plane, coordination of the hand and the eye. Logic speech. 8. Working with the grid - visual perception. 9. Mathematical games, didactic means. 10. Organizational forms of pre-mathematical education. 11. Heavy Mathematics - Stepping, Stairs, Cube. 12. Classification of special learning disorders. 13. At the same time we model and draw. View character, orientation in space. 14. Written paper, essay for the exam.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )
  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) - 2 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 15 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim is to equip students with knowledge, habits and skills to develop pre-mathematical and natural science concepts of preschool children. To acquaint students with didactic procedures and methods for the development of mathematical science literacy of children.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.

General orientation in the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined examination, Oral exam, Written exam, Student's performance analysis

Participation in seminars, presentations, seminar work.
