Course content
|
1. Phylogenetic and ontogenetic development of speech - theories of language acquisition, psycholinguistic theories, stages of speech development, language levels in speech development, pitfalls of speech development from birth to younger school age. Social, cultural and biological determinants of speech development - innate dispositions, maturation, learning in speech development, influence of environment, family, preschool education on child speech development. 3. Articulation system, physiology of speech. Introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the orofacial region, breathing, voice production, etc. 4. Basics of phonetics and phonology - introduction to phonetics and phonology of Czech for speech therapists, system of Czech vowels, physiology of vowel formation (consonants, vocals). 5. Constructing children's linguistic and communicative competence - Framework Educational Programme for pre-school education, educational area Language and speech. Diagnosis of a child of preschool age and younger school age by a teacher with an emphasis on communication skills, diagnostic methods used in preschool. 6. Supporting speech development in children - the role of the kindergarten, the role of the parent, the role of the speech therapist, the role of the special educator. Specific issues of speech education in kindergarten - bilingualism and teaching foreign languages to children, children with special educational needs, support measures in kindergarten. 7. Communication impairment in children - delayed speech development, defective pronunciation, stuttering, stammering, breptavost, elective mutism.

Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on speech development and linguistic competence of the child from the onset of ontogenesis and on the role of kindergarten and teacher in the process of language skills acquisition in pre-school child.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.

|
Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Interview, Oral presentation of self-study
Active participation in exercises. Completion of assigned tasks. Reading the literature.
