Course content
Thematic Areas: Culture: Definition of the term, fundamental theories of culture, and its influence on socialization and the educational process. Formation of individual, group, national, and cultural identities and their significance for individuals and society. Selected Cultural Entities and Their Influence on Global Organization: Multicultural reality in the contemporary world and Europe, including its historical development, present state, migration, and cultural interactions. Multicultural Reality in the Czech Republic: Foreigners, asylum seekers, minorities, and subcultures. Relationships between majority and minority groups in modern society. Legal status of minorities, foreigners, asylum seekers, and other groups in the Czech Republic. Intercultural Communication: Perception and specifics of verbal and non-verbal communication, communication etiquette, and issues related to prejudice, stereotypes, racism, and xenophobia. Development of intercultural sensitivity and competencies. Educational Practices in Schools and Specifics of Work in Leisure-Time Facilities in the Czech Republic: Addressing the representation of students and clients who are foreigners, minorities, and members of subcultures. Integration and inclusion concepts. Specific needs, methods, and approaches to support children/students with a different mother tongue in adapting to school and engaging in leisure activities and programs. Analysis of Media Presentation of Multicultural Topics: Methodology, instructions, and suggestions for conducting research on multicultural realities in selected workplaces (schools, after-school programs, or leisure facilities). Examples of Best Practices: Insights and experiences from applying multicultural education methods abroad and in the Czech Republic.

Assessment methods and criteria
Interview, Oral presentation of self-study, Presentation of student research activity

Active Participation in Practical Sessions Engage actively in all exercises and discussions during the sessions. Study of Academic Literature Analyze and reflect on professional literature related to multicultural topics. Analysis of Websites with Multicultural Themes Conduct a critical evaluation of online resources and platforms addressing multicultural issues. Implementation of Independent Research on Multicultural Reality Carry out an investigation into the multicultural environment at a selected workplace (e.g., school or leisure facility).
