Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the current understanding of landscape as a space co-created by natural processes and human activity, and to provide them with a comprehensive overview of the basic types of landscapes in the world, in Europe, and in the Czech Republic. In the first part of the course, the landscapes of the world are discussed according to the main macroclimatic units (biomes), and in the second part, the landscapes of the Czech Republic are classified according to morphometry and the degree of human influence. By completing the course, students will learn the basic general principles of landscape ecology, which will enable them to see the landscapes they visit or live in with "different eyes."
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.
