Course content
Reform Pedagogical Movement - Historical Overview and Pedagogical Foundations. New School and New Education - The New Schools Movement. Alternative Schooling and Alternative Educational and Upbringing Systems. Waldorf Pedagogy - The Personality of Rudolf Steiner and His Pedagogical Work. Anthroposophy and Theosophy in the Concept of Waldorf Pedagogy. Waldorf Pedagogy - Basic Principles, Analysis, Overview. Waldorf Preschool Facilities - Principles of Educational and Upbringing Work. Educational Areas in Waldorf Pedagogy. Pedagogical and Didactical Analysis of Teaching in Waldorf Kindergartens. The Teacher in the Concept of Waldorf Pedagogy. Contemporary Waldorf Education in the Czech Republic and Europe. Practice in Selected Educational Institutions Operating Under Waldorf Pedagogy Principles - Example: Waldorf Kindergarten Turnov, Waldorf Primary School Liberec.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Practicum, Students' portfolio, Seminar activities
  • Class attendance - 14 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 15 hours per semester
  • Individual project - 11 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to basic principles of Waldorf pedagogy and Waldorf school system. After completing the course, students will be able to analyse general pedagogical and didactic issues in the context of Waldorf pedagogy.
Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field.

General orientation in the subject.
