Course content
|
Students will learn the methods of working with text in the classroom and ways to developed reading literacy of pupils The seminars are mainly practical work with artistic and information texts. Topics: - Functional and reader literacy and support for its development. - Conditions for the development of reading literacy in schools. - International researches PIRLS and PISA. - Projects supporting the development of reading literacy. - Reading comprehension process. - Formulate questions and tasks that develop reading literacy on different types of texts. - Diagnostics and assessment of student reading literacy. Seminars: - Methods for developing reading skills and critical thinking (1 seminar) - Fundations of work with artistic texts (4 seminars) - Fundations of working with information texts (2 seminars)

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with up-to-date knowledge of Czech language teaching, with a focus on the second stage of primary education. The course is designed as a comprehensive introduction to the curriculum and didactics of all three components of the field, i.e., language education, composition and communication education, and literary education. In accordance with the overall concept of Czech language didactics, emphasis is placed in particular on the acquisition of practical skills necessary for the effective teaching of communication and composition.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written assignment
Participation in the classes, presentation, semestral thesis. The course is held in Czech language, the requirements are stated in the Czech version.
