Course content
|
Thematic areas - lecture and exercises: 1. Principles, objectives, and guidelines for teaching work activities at the elementary school level. 2. Preparation and planning of work activities. Health and safety at work. 3. Work activities with regard to educational objectives - selection of topics, materials, and procedures. 4. Motivation, implementation, reflection, presentation, archiving. 5. Work organization, specifics of individual and group teaching. 6. Basics of table setting and food preparation, etiquette and gardening, school garden. 7. Handling small materials, exploration, play, experimentation. 8. Construction activities, working with building kits, techniques and procedures. 9. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional work with paper. 10. Shaping textile materials, handicraft techniques. 11. Folk art, crafts and traditions in practical activities. 12. Work-oriented games and outings, cooperation with the non-profit sector, local government, and cultural institutions. 13. Methodological problems and practical challenges. Examples of good practice. 14. Working with sources of inspiration, searching for and presenting examples and own teaching outputs.

Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on acquiring skills and knowledge about the theory, history, and current state of teaching work activities at the primary school level, with regard to the Framework Educational Program for Preschool Education and educational reality. In theoretical and practical seminars, students work with inspirational sources for teaching the subject and their use in primary schools, familiarize themselves with materials, procedures, and principles of work in this area with regard to the creative development of pupils. Emphasis is placed on creative activities and tasks in individual thematic areas.
