Course content
Thematic headings: 1.Concept and vision of the subject. Student portfolio and student conference planning. 2.Educational inspiration for primary school line discussion with a foreign expert from practice and academia on selected issues of primary education. 3.The educational programme Step by Step - concept, activity centres, cooperative learning, pupils as active actors in education. Analysis of the educational programme of the selected school, discussion with a practitioner, reflection. 4.Inclusive school and pupils from socio-culturally different backgrounds. Examples of good practice. 5.School from parents' point of view - choice of primary school, deferment of schooling, forms of cooperation between family and school, home preparation for teaching). 6.The child and online. Workshop / discussion with an expert (children and social networks, (un)safety in the online environment, use of AI in teaching). 7.Implementation of a student conference. Final reflection.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issue of primary education in a more comprehensive perspective. On selected topics, students will learn about current trends in primary education, the actors (teacher, pupil, parents), examples of good practice in first cycle schools, and the role of primary education. They will learn about the best practices in primary school education and inspiration from abroad. The course includes examples of good practice of innovative schools in the first cycle of primary education. Primary schools, round tables with practitioners, discussions with primary education actors and the organisation of a student conference.

Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio, Oral presentation of self-study

Active participation in exercises, presentation at student conference
