Course content
Thematic areas: 1. Theory and expressive possibilities of colors, complementary colors, mixing and refraction of colors. 2. Compositional exercises with color. 3. Transparent colors and their possible uses. 4. Semi-transparent colors. 5. Opaque colors - tempera painting, modeling volume. 6. The use of expressive means in painting. 7. The use of modern art as a starting point for creation. 8. Use of painting base, painting on dry pastel underpainting. 9-10. Combined painting techniques. 11. Decal, combination of painting and drawing. 12. Painting on relief base. 13-14. Independent work.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the means of expression in painting, color theory, and basic painting methods and techniques. Attention is paid to composition and playing with elements. Students will try their hand at classical painting, but also, in particular, working with color and playful forms in the area of decals, combining techniques, and working with stencils.
