Course content
|
Lectures: 1) Cyberspace - a virtual computer world, a global computer network. 2) Internet and Internet communication, pitfalls of user anonymity, data abuse. Specifics of social networks. 3) Typical situations threatening Internet users. 4) Cyberbullying: specifics in children and adolescents. 5) Dependence on technology, on the Internet, on online games and its consequences. 6) Ways of safe internet behaviour. 7) Possibilities of social work in the area of prevention of risky behaviour on the Internet. Seminars: 1) Specific problems of children in cyberspace, specifics of women - mothers, families, lonely people and seniors. 2) Example of Facebook and user behaviour on it. Possible threats to social network users. 3) Cases of child victims of Internet crime. 4) Forms of cyberbullying in adults. The consequences of cyberbullying among children. 5) Internet Addiction Disorder in relation to mobile phones. 6) Creation of a preventive program aimed at negative phenomena associated with Internet use and other technologies. 7) Possibilities of social work in sexting.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to present cyberspace, the Internet and social networks as an important field of interest in social work. The object of interest is cyberspace and its possibilities, limits and risks. Students will learn about the possibilities of prevention of risky behaviour on the Internet and with the possibility of social work in cyberspace.

Student's performance analysis
Active participation in lessons; elaboration and presentation of a draft for a preventive program enhancing safe behaviour on the Internet.
