Course content
Lectures: 1. The system of university education. Introduction of the institution of university education and its organization hierarchy. Studiing social work in TUL and the forms of the studies. 2. Study order of TUL. Study plan of Special pedagogy. Recommendations for the studies. 3. Specific features of the expert texts, stylistics: functional style, specific features of the student's papers. 4. Information sources. 5. Using the expert information sources; principles of the university studies in terms of using information sources. 6. Demands of the akademici writing for the students. 7. Creative writing - creating academic papers. Seminars: 1. Electronic sources for studiing at FP TUL (STAG, e-learning). 2. Recommendations for the studies (study principles and habits, psycho hygiene of the student). 3. Example of the various types of the texts, genres and function styles of writing. 4. Looking up the information sources (library databases, expert databases, internet). 5. Using expert information sources (reading techniques, making notes), tools and aids for work with information. 6. Content and formal principles of the text written by a student (topics, creation, structure, formal issues, typography rules). 7. Preparation phase of writing (freewriting, cognitive maps, cubing ?). Creating text (argumentation, text cohesion, notes).

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence

Learning outcomes
In this discipline students learn the specific features of university studies of special education and pedagogy. Students learn the study order; study principles, habits etc.; structure, organisation and content of the studies. The goal of the first part of the course is to make students oriented in in their study rights and duties, in the study plan and order. The second part of the course helps students get into expert literature, especial into the documents with special education topics. Students learn how to create their seminar and bachelor thesis. Students learn how to look up relevant sources of expert information, work with them, be correct in quotations, and create their own text.
