Course content
1. Basic Terminology 2. Identity and its formation, national identity 3. Racial theories and ideologies problems 4. Basic models of coexistence of majority and minority society 5. Legal framework of life of minorities in the Czech Republic

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence

Learning outcomes
In this course students learn basic problems of the coexistence between social majorities and ethnical and culture minorities. In this course students are acquainted with delimitation of particular terminology and concepts (minority, race, xenophobia, ethnocentrism, racism, stereotypes, assimilation, integration, multiculturalism and so on).

Social work and consecutive knowledge gained through the educational backround.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students write a semestral thesis. Students follow the instructions of the lecturer, they follow the instruction of lenght, topic and content. The thesis must show the knowledge students master through their study hours. The thesis must be accepted by the lecturer, so the student can enter the exam. Examination conditions are set by the lecturer.
