Course content
1. History of social services 2. The term of social service 3. Registration and inspection within the social services 4. SQSS 5. Legislative basis of the social services in the CR and in the EU 6. Community planning 7. Transformation and deinstitutionalization of the social services 8. Current situation in the CR and the EU 9. Financing social services

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Written assignment presentation and defence

Learning outcomes
In this course students will learn about the history, development and the system of social services. The aim of the discipline is to gain knowledge and skills that are necessary for understanding the sense of social services for an individual, for a community and for the society. Students will learn about the quality standards in the social services (SQSS) and about the process of their implementation into the social services organizations.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students write a semestral thesis. Students follow the instructions of lecturer, they follow the instruction of lenght, topic and content. The thesis must show the knowledge students master through their study hours. The thesis must be accepted by the lecturer, so the student can enter the exam. Examination conditions are set by the lecturer.?
