Course content
Lectures: 1. History, today and future of textile. Main inovative activities, new materials and nanotechnology. 2. Principle of production of linear textiles. Preparation of fibres to spinning - history and today. 3. History of manufacture of spinning machines manufactury with a view to product quality and economy. Development of spinning machines. 4. Principle of woven fabric production. Fabric weave. Utilization of fabrics as technical textiles - development. 5. History and today of development of weaving machines with a view of product quality and economy. 6. Principle of production of knitted fabric. Knitting paterns. Utilization of knitted fabrics as a technical textiles - development. 7. History and today of development of knitting machines in view of product quality and economy. Practice - introduction into the manual and machine manufacturing of yarn, woven and knitted fabric - seminary work - excursion

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Demonstration, Demonstration of student skills

Learning outcomes
Lectures are focused on view of history of textile creation, it's oldest archeological sources on the world, progress of hand made textile production. Preparation of linen, cotton and wool fibers, spinning, weaving, knitting. The developments and applications of fibres, textile machinery and textile technology. Historic phases are selected according to the degree of development in industry and state of textiles constructions. The connections between industrial developments are shown. The logical connections and breakthrough solutions are discussed. History, today and future of textile branch is mentioned.
