Course content
Theory: 1. Cycling - technology, driving technique, road cycling safety. 2. Equipment and gear for outdoor activities. 3. Staying in countryside, organizing the event. 4. Orientation. 5. Multimedia materials. Practical exercises: 1. Cycling. 2. Activities with a use of ropes (rappel, rope obstacles). 3. Basics of water sports (canoeing, wakeboarding, paddleboarding). 4. Orienteering. 5. Non-traditional games. 6. In-line skating. 7. Paddleboarding. 8. Triathlon race. 9. Multimedia materials presentation.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Motoric and practical working skills training, Demonstration of student skills
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) - 25 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is based on practical implementation to acquaint students with the possibilities and principles of physical activities in countryside. The course is focused on staying in countryside and on the related activities. Students will gain theoretical knowledge about active forms of movement and stay in countryside, sports activities, prevention of subjective and objective risks, first aid, orientation in nature, etc. The course also includes socializing activities. The course comprises activities that are closely related to the target focus of the student. Theoretical lectures and presentations take place in the course, but the emphasis is on active practical involvement of students in all individual activities.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.
Prerequisites
Elementary movement skills corresponding to the age characteristics of the student.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student's performance analysis, Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Course credit requirements: Completion of the entire course and all its parts, meeting the requirements of orienteering and triathlon racing, completing a cycle trip of at least 50 km, multimedia materials making.
