Course content
ntroduction to the theory of recreation and being in nature - meaning, education, free time, value system. Characteristics and components of nature education. Education through experience. Creation and protection of the environment in relation to nature education and recreation in nature Psychological and pedagogical aspects of nature education, intensive recreational and educational regimes. History and current situation in the field of education and stay in nature. Overview of Czech organizations active in the field of outdoor living and education. Foreign organization dealing with residence and education in nature in contemporary society. Experiential pedagogy, adventure. Outdoor programs, survival. Theory of games and sports, structure, general didactic principles, philosophical and psychological aspects of games. Organization and management of outdoor activities - preparation, management and evaluation of programs, legislative security. Methodology for conducting events in nature. Safety at outdoor events, age appropriateness, personality of the instructor/personality of the client. Recreational centers focused on education in nature. Rope obstacles and tracks. Rope centers and parks.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monological explanation (lecture, presentation,briefing), Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Written assignment presentation and defence
  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 25 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Course leads to understanding the importance of recreation and outdoor education. Students will again an overview of the history of outdoor education at home and abroad and how to use outdoor education programs in the area. In addition, students obtain information about outdoor education and its effects on man, get acquainted with the philosophical aspects of environmental education in nature and methodology of the basics of management actions.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite for this course is to meet the students' interest in the topic and proactive approach.
