Course content
The course is focused on the acquisition of practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for the implementation of the program in the winter environment. The course takes place in a mountain area in a residential form. The practical skills are: Cross-country skiing (classic technique, skating technique). Downhill training (downhill skis). Basics of ski touring. Walking on snowshoes. Snow games. Creating multimedia output. Theoretical knowledge is: Ski lubrication and service. Avalanche problems. Snow games. Orientation in the field. Route planning. Security aspect (subjective, objective). Choice of weapons and equipment.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is based on practical implementation to acquaint students with the possibilities and principles of physical activities in countryside in winter. The focus of the course is on the acquisition of practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for the implementation of the program in the winter environment. The course includes theoretical lectures, but the emphasis is on practical skills in the areas of cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, ski touring and snowshoeing. The course also takes into account the issue of snow games.
Students received special competences as per curriculum of accredited specialisation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Practical demonstration of acquired skills

Basic requirements: Active completion of the entire course and all its parts (cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, etc.). Interest in the issue of staying in nature. Sufficient physical and mental endurance to complete the course program. Multimedia output submission. Final exam. Related requirements: Snowshoeing for 3 hours with an average speed of 3 km / h. Cross-country skiing for 3 hours with an average speed of 8 km / h. Walking on alpine skis for 4 hours with an average speed of 4 km / h. Mastering the set requirements for downhill skiing.
