Course content
1. Introduction to law - legal language, civil code, brief historical overview of the development of construction law and professional practice law, constitutional prerequisites and conditions for professional practice and activities with a special legal regime (especially related to construction). 2. Construction Act and Administrative Procedure Code. 3. Building Act and implementing regulations (covering the areas of spatial planning and general requirements for land use, building regulations, and permitting processes). 4. Public administration system in relation to professional practice (state administration, local government, professional self-government). 5. Professional chambers and their role. 6. Building Act and implementing regulations - building documentation, general technical requirements for buildings, and regulations on the use of buildings by persons with limited mobility and orientation. 7. Selected related laws. Act on State Monument Care, Act on Nature and Landscape Protection, and certain other regulations related to environmental protection (including the role of EIA processes). 8. Selected related laws. Public Health Act, laws on transport infrastructure (road transport, railways, civil aviation, and inland water transport), laws on technical infrastructure (water management, energy, electronic communications, waste). 9. Selected related laws. Laws on information systems, Copyright Act I, theory. 10. Selected related laws. Copyright Law II, selected applications and practical examples. 11. The special status of Prague, PSP. 12. Contractual relationships and contracts with a focus on the practice of architects and urban planners. 13. Drafting a selected type of contract I. 14. Drafting a selected type of contract II.

Learning outcomes
The teaching of law related to the profession of an architect / urban planner includes a detailed interpretation of public law, namely building law regulations (Building Act, implementing decrees), and a general interpretation of a wide range of related public law legislation (health care, care for natural and landscape wealth, care for cultural wealth, information and information systems, transport infrastructure and technical, fire protection, work safety and technical equipment, technical standardization, metrology and state testing, code of administrative procedures and misdemeanour and criminal law).

- Active participation in lectures. - Overview of legal regulations, their interrelationships, and the creation of a specified type of contract. Learning outcomes: Knowledge Students: 1. Know basic legal concepts, legal language, the history of construction law, and the constitutional prerequisites for practicing the profession. 2. Is familiar with the Building Act, administrative rules, implementing regulations, and related legal regulations, including laws on monument preservation, nature conservation, public health, and infrastructure. 3. Understands the public administration system (state, regional, and professional) and the special status of Prague and the Prague Building Program. 4. Knows the role of professional chambers and the importance of professional self-government in the practice of architecture and urban planning. 5. Has a command of the basics of copyright and contractual relationships in architectural and urban planning practice, including the drafting of contracts. Skills Students: 1. Apply legal regulations related to building law and the practice of the profession in practice. 2. Search for and interpret legal norms relating to spatial planning, building permits, and other processes. 3. Assess the legal aspects of professional practice in the context of state administration, local government, and professional organizations. 4. Use knowledge of selected laws when solving practical tasks in the field of architecture and urban planning. 5. Prepares and evaluates contractual documentation with an emphasis on the specifics of architectural and urban planning practice. General competencies Students: 1. Critically evaluate the legal framework of construction law and its application in professional practice. 2. Communicate effectively with experts and institutions in the fields of law, construction, and public administration. 3. Independently resolve legal and administrative issues related to the practice of architecture and urban planning. 4. Accept responsibility for the legal aspects of their work and respect the ethical principles of the profession. 5. Integrate legal knowledge into interdisciplinary projects and teamwork.
