Course content
Compulsory attendance at lectures. Lecture topics: 1. Frequency spectrum distribution, transmission media properties 2. - 3. Wireless telecommunication networks: source and channel coding, digital modulation, data transmission security, error correction management 4. Mobile communications, cellular network principles 5. Generation 0, 1 and 2 networks - principles of operation, available features, services 6. GSM/GPRS/EDGE network - network architecture, burst, TDMA framework, signalling, security 7. - 8. 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th generation networks - overview, operating principles, available features, services 9. Wireless networks WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, GPS, WiMAX,... 10. Other modern wireless services - GNSS, ALS, ADS-B, RDS,... Exercise content: 1.-10. Practical verification of selected available specific wireless services and technologies

Learning outcomes
This course is overview to applications programming for the mobile systems - phones, PDA etc. Introduce to mobile networks principles - basic principles of the voice transfer, digitalization, protection and coding of the data transferring, basic operating systems and end-user terminals. Practical part of subject is dedicated especially to user interfaces of network terminals and programming them.
Student will get basic information about programming mobile devices

Combined examination, Oral exam, Written exam

Compulsory and active participation in exercises and lectures, activity during the course, successful completion of tests. Submission of two individual term works . The exam is written and oral.
