Course content: - Introduction to the renewable energy sources, current state of knowledge, obstacles to development, outlook for the future. - Energy power sources by wind, water, sun, nuclear, earth and biomass, fundamental principles and technologies, control principles. - Energy of the environment, heat pumps, modern design and principle of operation. - Energy storage systems, electrochemical, mechanical and thermal principles, lithium batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors and flywheels, control principles. - Clean mobility in individual and public transport, charging and refueling infrastructure, the impact on the distribution network.

The course focuses on the fundamental principles of renewable energy sources, state-of-the-art technologies and theoretical ideas applicable to their design. The course also includes a comparison with conventional energy sources and the utilization of renewable energy sources in the geographical conditions of the Czech Republic.
