Educational goals
|
The German for Education study programme's goal is to teach such knowledge and skills that will enable the students of the programme to find a job position in the middle management within the private as well as the state sphere, especially in the areas of education, further education, free time education; or to continue in the master study programme: Education for Lower Secondary Schools or Education for Secondary Schools and thus to deepen and to conclude their teacher training. The students will achieve language skills at the level that will make their fluent communication in German possible in a spoken as well as in a written form. The students will achieve knowledge of the German language system and they will be able to describe the rules of the system. The students will gain knowledge about basic areas of psychology and pedagogy, not only from the general point of view but also in connection with German language teaching.

Our graduates can continue their studies at TUL Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education in the Master's programme Teaching German at Lower-Secondary School or the study programme German at Lower-Secondary School The graduates may also choose from a wide range of teacher study programmes or other types of programmes not connected to teaching at other Czech universities. Our BA programme's wide range of topics allows graduates to follow up in other MA programmes, such as Leisure Time Education at Faculta of Edication at TUL or professional studies at other Czech universities.

Graduate profile
|
The graduates of the German for Education bachelor study programme acquire knowledge concerning the theoretical background of the field and they are able to apply the knowledge into practical communicative situations. The graduates have reached the communicative language competence at the level C1 in receptive language skills and the threshold level C1 in productive language skills as defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Projected position of this programme’s graduates in the job market

After graduating BA programme of German Language in Education, students are primarily intended to continue with MA teacher studyprogramme at Faculty of Education at TUL or another university in the Czech Republic. By successful completion of BA studies, the graduate acquires necessary competencies enabling him to work as an assistant teacher in accordance with § 20 of Act No. 563/2004 Coll. In addition, the graduates can work in leisure-time centers, youth homes, clubs and various sassociations involved in pedagogical activities. The graduates can also work in private educational sphere where they are able to occupy positions within the private sector focused on education, further education and pedagogical work in leisure time activities. Their subject knowledge enable the graduates to pursue a profession in the state administration with the required BA degree. The graduate will apply in the private educational sphere, he / she is able to occupy positions within the private sector focused on education, further education, educational and pedagogical work in leisure time. Graduates can also apply in the state sphere, preferably in its educational segment. Graduates can work in in individual social sectors related to their undergraduate studies within the middle management. If the graduates do not continue to study, they are ready to work in the field of language education outside the school system, especially in leisure-time educational activities for children and youth, or to be employed in companies with foreign participation or state and private sector in the field of culture and travel (Information Centers, European Documentation Centers, etc.). Liberec region is closely intertwined with supporting development of companies cooperating with the automotive industry. A substantial part is directly related to the production in VW Škoda Mladá Boleslav where high percentage of our graduates finds long-term employment. The cross-border character of the region also gives space for increased working mobility of the population in the area of services and crafts.
