Course content
Lectures: 1. Present issues and risks of housing and family policy in the CR - possible causes, consequences and solution. Public policy and economy. Legislation. 2. Present issues and risks of health and education social policy in the CR - possible causes, consequences and solution. Public policy and economy. Legislation. 3. Present issues and risks of social security in the CR - possible causes, consequences and solution. Public policy and economy. Legislation. 4. Present issues and risks of employment policy and labour market - possible causes, consequences and solution. Public policy and economy. Legislation. 5. European social model. The development of social policy in EU. Social policy of EU - goals, priorities, social protection. 6. Social policy challenges of the EU - aging, globalization, migration, climate changes. Perspectives of social policy in EU - flexibility, modernization. 7. Welfare state and its perspective in the context of social changes in the CR and EU and the world. Seminars: 1. Learning outcomes
The content of the discipline is based on the information about the present form of social policy in the CR and EU with the accent on the knowledge of the legislation. Students learn the main issues and risks of present social policy in terms of globalisation, economic integration, reforms, demographic changes etc. the social policy issues will be shown from many different perspectives and in the connection to the public and economic policy of the states. Students will discuss the issues of social states, their types and kinds. Students learn the European model of social policy, its principles and development. The present challenges of the social policy in EU and social state - welfare state as such will be discussed.
