Course content
Lectures: 1.-3. Basic characterization of jacquard fabrics and jacquard machines. Basic parameters of jacquard machines, mechanical and electronic jacquard machines. Weave techniques in jacquard fabrics - general information, possibilities and applications. 4.-5 Weave technique - simple jacquard fabrics. Design and possibilities. CAD system DesignScopeVictor EAT 6.-7 Weave technique - double weft jacquard fabrics. Design and possibilities. CAD system DesignScopeVictor EAT in double weft technique. Design of blanket (double weft) fabrics. 8. Weave technique - multi warp jacquard fabrics. Design and possibilities. CAD system DesignScopeVictor EAT in double warp technique. 9.-10. Weave technique - double jacquard fabrics. Design and possibilities. CAD system DesignScopeVictor EAT in double fabric technique. Practices: 1.-4. CAD system DesignScopeVictor EAT in weave techniques. Petterning of simple woven fabric No.1 (individual work) - design of plain jacquard fabric using jacquard electronic machine Staübli. 5.-8. Design of woven fabric No.2 (individual work) - design of double weft jacquard fabric using jacquard electronic machine Staübli 9. Presentation of individual designs 1, 2.

Learning outcomes
Within the subject students get acquainted with these areas: jacquard shedding mechanism, possibilities in tie-up, weave techniques in jacquard design and fabric construction (2D and 3D fabric construction), preparation and treatment of draft of jacquard fabrics, use of CAD system for design of jacquard fabrics, jacquard techniques for weaving single, multi-weft, multi-warp and multiple fabrics.
Within this subject students gain information and practical skills in the field of jacquard fabric design.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam, Practical demonstration of acquired skills, Presentation of artistic and creative activities

Credit: Presentation and defence of project work. Examination: oral. Distance form: Active participation with the teacher in the distance form within the assigned topics, elaboration of the assignment of the relevant topics assigned by the distance form. Submission of assignments and project work Exam: oral.
