Key learning outcomes The aim of the study program in Biomedical Engineering is mainly to prepare practically oriented graduates with technical knowledge biocybernetics, computer science and robotics overlapping into medical practice. It is therefore a non-medical professional education. Graduates with qualifications biomedical engineer : acquire professional profile graduate in line with current developments in biomedical and clinical engineering, be able to healthcare facilities operate, inspect and maintain diagnostic and therapeutic instrumentation and its software, including physician-assisted in the investigation of patients, be able to provide activities relating to the registration and operation of medical equipment, evaluate if it fails to create the concept of preventive measures against its failure, may contribute to the activation of medical diagnostic and therapeutic devices, including requirements specification and management of tenders and technical briefings to staff in the service of medical diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and safety at work, due to the ability to engage in the development and research work, especially experimental character, graduates can find employment even in companies and institutions involved in the development, production, sale and service of medical technology and the creation of software in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic devices and techniques for health care. Biomedical engineer carries out activities pursuant to Decree No. 55/2011 Coll., and under the supervision of a clinical engineer with specialized qualifications in the field without a medical indication in accordance with the diagnosis made by the doctor working with medical instrument if its activity can directly affect the health of patients.

Specific provisions for recognition of prior learning The recognition procedure of the university is guided by <a class="xg_stag_a_out" href="http://www.tul.cz/en/students/dokument-2002.html" target="_blank">Examination regulations, assessment and grading</a> (article 26).
Qualification requirements and regulations 120 ECTS credits in subjects required by the study plan, final state examination, thesis defense.
