Course content
1. Counselling principles, legal context of the counselling, specific features 2. Preparing for the interview, first contact (verbal, nonverbal, paralinguistic communication, meta-communication), speech specifics, conveying, sharing, listening - empathic, professional 3. Formulating the contract, negotiating the contract, 4. Counselling interview phases, terminating and assessing, 5. Ethical aspects of counselling 6. Specifics of the telephonic and internet counselling, crisis intervention, counselling for people in a difficult situation, working with a client who is emotionally engaged, counselling in pedagogy and health care ? 7. Role, engagement and commitment of the counsellor

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogue metods(conversation,discussion,brainstorming), Self-study (text study, reading, problematic tasks, practical tasks, experiments, research, written assignments), Active metods (simulation, situational contingency methods, drama,acting, namagerial acting )
  • Class attendance - 14 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the discipline is to present and teach the participants how the counselling is done in real life. Students will understand the need of building and developing attitudes, values and qualities that are necessary for an efficient counsellor.

Student's performance analysis

To gain the credit students must join the seminar and write a semestral thesis. Other demands are specified by the lecturer.
